Description

Manage and maintain DB2 LUW database environments across development, QA, training, and production tiers.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, create, and update DB2 LUW database objects in collaboration with application development teams.
• Plan and execute database upgrades and migrations, including creating checklists, milestones, and fallback procedures.
• Review SQL statements for performance and provide specific recommendations for indexing.
• Document entity types and relationships using Entity Relationship Diagrams in Erwin.
• Support system administrators during OS and database patching and assist QA teams with application testing.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• 5+ years of experience with Structured Query Language (SQL).
• 3+ years of experience specifically with DB2 LUW.
• 3+ years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• 3+ years of experience with Relational Data Modeling.
• 3+ years of experience monitoring production databases and adjusting DBM settings for performance.
• 3+ years of experience planning and performing database migrations and environment setups.
• 1+ years of experience with Erwin.
• 1+ years of experience with Unix shell scripts (ksh, csh, bash, or sh).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with COBOL, Python, Perl, SQL Server, MySQL, or Teradata.
• Experience with IBM WebSphere, Hibernate, or scripting languages.
