Manage the full lifecycle of DB2 mainframe databases from initial analysis through decommissioning.

Responsibilities

• Execute DB2 z/OS initiatives including Universal Tablespace conversions, Image Copy Backup Remediation, and Version 13 migrations.
• Develop REXX programs to support database operations and JIRA activities.
• Implement recovery strategies to support Cyber MRA activities and maintain production stability via exception report monitoring.
• Provide performance tuning recommendations for database calls in collaboration with application development teams.
• Support DB2 upgrades and replication by acting as a communication point for development teams and executing remediation activities.

Required Skills

• 7-9 years of DB2 DBA experience on z/OS within a large financial institution.
• In-depth knowledge of DB2 on z/OS and DB2 recovery options.
• Proficiency with JCL and ISPF.
• Experience with DB2 Utilities including IBM and BMC tools.
• Working knowledge of BMC tools: Change Manager, Catalog Manager, Mainview, and SQL Performance.
• Experience with Endevor and JIRA.
• Understanding of ACF2 and RACF managed security for DB2 access.

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of QREP, CDC, or Splunk.
• Python programming experience.
