Description

You will manage DB2 z/OS environments within a sysplex data-sharing architecture.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Manage creation and maintenance of database objects, including tables, columns, and indexes.
• Perform performance tuning for SQL queries, indexing, stored procedures, triggers, and concurrency issues.
• Implement database backup and recovery strategies and schedule maintenance utilities.
• Collaborate with business analysts and developers to promote DB2 best practices during application design.
• Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call support schedule.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in a senior DBA role supporting DB2 (version 9 or higher) production systems.
• Technical expertise in DB2 version 11 or 12 on the z/OS platform.
• Proficiency in logical and physical data modeling design concepts.
• Experience with table partitioning and maintaining very large databases.
• Hands-on experience with IBM Db2, z/OS, and database maintenance.
• Knowledge of third-party tools such as Omegamon, BMC, and CDB.
• Bachelor's degree required.
