Description

You will manage and maintain DB2 databases on z/OS environments, owning the full lifecycle from daily operations to strategic performance tuning.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute daily DBA tasks including backups, recovery, and maintenance to ensure system availability.
• Implement DB2 Recover Expert to define and manage recovery strategies.
• Configure and manage DB2 Data Replicator for real-time data synchronization across platforms.
• Administer DB2 instances on Linux and Windows through installations, upgrades, and maintenance.
• Optimize database performance via indexing strategies, memory allocation, and SQL tuning.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on experience with DB2 on z/OS administration, recovery, and monitoring.
• Expertise in DB2 Admin and Recover Expert on z/OS.
• Proficiency with DB2 Data Replicator for real-time replication.
• Experience with Query Management Facility (QMF) on z/OS.
• Experience using DB2 Query Monitor for SQL performance analysis and bottleneck resolution.
• Knowledge of DB2 environments on Linux and Windows.
• Strong command of SQL.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Shell, Python, and REXX.

Preferred Skills

• Enforcement of DB2 security best practices and data governance standards.
