Description

You will manage and maintain the DB2 environment on z/OS, covering administration, performance tuning, and disaster recovery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Administer DB2 (on z/OS) databases and daily operations.
• Execute disaster recovery planning and support for database systems.
• Perform systems performance tuning and capacity planning for DB2.
• Analyze application performance and tune SQL queries using access path analysis.
• Manage DB2 security interfaces and utilize DB2 monitoring tools.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator.
• Deep working knowledge of DB2 internals, installation, and operation.
• Proficiency in DB2 Systems Performance Tuning and Capacity Planning.
• Expertise in SQL coding and application-related performance tuning.
• Familiarity with DB2 Data Sharing in a Parallel Sysplex environment.
• Understanding of REXX, HTML, and Java code structures.
• Experience with CICS, DB2, and MQ/DB2 environments.
• Knowledge of SMP/E and User Mods procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Skills in logical and physical database design.
