Description

You will administer a large-scale DB2 Data Sharing production and test environment within a Sysplex mainframe infrastructure. Your work supports high-throughput OLTP and batch applications.

Responsibilities

• Administer DB2 Data Sharing environments across multiple CECs and LPARs.
• Create and modify DB2 subsystems to support new applications and architecture changes.
• Install, customize, and maintain DB2 V12 function levels, including buffer pool tuning and zParm configuration.
• Perform root-cause analysis to resolve production DB2 application, configuration, and software issues.
• Support on-call rotation and weekend work for production stability.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DB2 systems programming.
• Deep knowledge of ISPF, JCL, SQL, and DB2 utilities.
• Proficiency with SMPE and IBM DB2 tools.
• Experience with DB2Connect and DDF workflows.
• Hands-on experience with DB2 stored procedures.
• Working knowledge of monitoring tools including Omegamon and Query Monitor.
• Experience managing third-party systems software.
• Familiarity with Log Analyzer, SQL Performance Analyzer, OPTIM, and BMC tools.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with DB2 data replication (CDC).
• General support experience for z/OS operating systems and associated program products.
