Description

Manage and maintain DB2 subsystems within a Z/OS mainframe environment to ensure high availability for financial operations.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, maintain, and administer relational databases across multiple DB2 and MVS subsystems.
• Investigate and resolve performance issues using diagnostic tools, analyzing explain plans and optimizer decisions.
• Manage database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes in a 24x7 environment.
• Lead outage and incident management from initial troubleshooting through root cause analysis and corrective implementation.
• Provide consultancy services to application support groups and developers.

Required Skills

• Extensive experience with DB2 Data Sharing across multiple subsystems.
• Proven background in the financial industry.
• Expertise in Z/OS mainframe and MVS environments.
• Proficiency with JCL, Cobol, and SQL (DDL, DML, and DCL).
• Hands-on experience with database management utilities: Image Copy, Recovery, REORG, RUNSTATS, Load, Bind, and Explain.
• Ability to perform database performance tuning and problem determination.
• Experience with scripting and automation using Rexx or similar tools.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience.
