Description

You will serve as the subject matter expert for DB2 Warehouse environments, managing technical and operational support across on-premises and cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Install, monitor, and maintain DB2 Warehouse instances, implementing alerting, backup, and recovery processes.
• Execute database migrations across platforms and from on-premises to cloud environments.
• Optimize system and SQL performance through proactive tuning and troubleshooting of live database issues.
• Deploy DB2 Warehouse client containers and manage Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) deployments using Docker or Kubernetes.
• Manage security configurations including SSL, external directory servers, and S-TAP, while planning disaster recovery and high availability strategies.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of professional experience in database administration.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with IBM DB2 Warehouse 11.X or later on AIX and/or Linux.
• Expertise in native administration commands via host command line.
• Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting, Python, or Perl.
• Hands-on experience with data replication for continuous availability.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes-based DB2 warehouse MPP deployment.
• Functional knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Git, or Jenkins.
• Ability to manage data loading and proactive remediation of operational problems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with cloud migration workflows.
