Description

You will manage and maintain the Progress database environment.

Responsibilities

• Administer Progress Database, including installation, upgrades, creation, and maintenance.
• Manage database operations such as monitoring, dump & load, and performance tuning.
• Implement and manage database backup and restoration strategies, including Disaster Recovery (DR).
• Configure, maintain, and monitor Admin Server, NameServer, and Appserver.
• Handle Progress version migration and OS migration tasks.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Database Administration.
• Expertise with Progress Open Edge V11 or higher in a UNIX environment.
• Proficiency in OS shell/Bash Scripting.
• Experience with Progress OE features including Auditing, CDC, AI Management, Replication, and PAS.
• Familiarity with Progress 4GL.
• Experience with sequential, parallel, and multithreaded Progress Dump and load.
• Experience with Type1 to Type2 data conversion and performance tuning.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and communication abilities.
