Description

You will develop the design and production of Light Rail Vehicles, focusing on mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

  • Execute customized production orders and design new components using industry standards and best engineering practices.
  • Manage complex PTC Creo 3.0 or PDMLink assemblies, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide drafting support for submittals and as-built drawings, incorporating field or customer-based changes.
  • Support the creation and updates of Project/Platform Drawing Trees.
  • Assist in procurement, manufacturing, and testing cycles while providing cross-functional support to System Engineers and design staff.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1 year of experience with 3D CAD modeling software.
  • 3 to 5 years of design experience, preferably in Rail Vehicle Design.
  • Proficiency in creating parts, assemblies, and bills of materials of varying complexities.
  • Experience designing large and small welded or bolted assemblies.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, fabrication methods, material properties, and corrosion mitigation.
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical integration.
  • Ability to develop conceptual designs and troubleshoot technical issues independently.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3 or more years of experience, or an Associate's degree with 8 or more years of experience.

Preferred Skills

  • Extensive experience with PTC Creo 9.
  • Experience with Windchill or similar PLM software, SAP, or releasing work packages via ECR/ECN/ECO.
  • Design experience with sheet metal, welded steel structures, fiberglass, or plastic parts.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD for 2D legacy projects.
