Job Title: Design Manager – 2D Wayfinding

Position Summary:
(8–10 years of experience with Masters in Design / Product Design / Architecture)
The Design Manager is a creative lead on multiple small and medium projects, running complex
presentation meetings with clients, sensitively challenging the client brief to push boundaries
creatively. He/She will retain responsibility for all design outputs whilst sharing knowledge;
coaching, developing and motivating all design team members. The Design Manager influences the
design direction of the team’s work and manages the design process for signage and wayfinding
systems from concept to implementation at The One Off. Should have experience in developing
design intent packages with strong material knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
Creative Delivery:
• Analyse and challenge client briefs to develop strong creative concepts
• Lead multiple projects and oversee 2D design output
• Conduct client workshops and build senior-level relationships
• Provide industry insights to enhance design solutions
Planning & Scoping:
• Plan and manage project timelines and workflows
• Ensure efficient studio operations and delivery
• Maintain timesheets and plan ahead as per billing cycles
Client Communication:
• Lead presentations and client pitches
• Act as a primary point of contact for clients
• Ensure high-quality communication and engagement
Team Management:
• Lead and mentor design teams
• Encourage innovation and continuous improvement
• Ensure smooth collaboration across teams
Learning & Development:
• Stay updated with industry trends and tools
• Promote skill development within the team
• Continuously improve processes and output quality
Key Competencies:
• Strong expertise in 2D design, wayfinding, signage, and information design
• Knowledge of print and production techniques
• Ability to conduct research, audits, and competitor analysis
• Strong presentation and communication skills
