Lead the design and release of automotive exterior components, ensuring styling intent translates into manufacturable, functional parts.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Translate styling concepts into manufacturable exterior components including bumpers, grilles, mirrors, and door handles.
• Conduct DFMEA and manage design validation through physical and virtual testing.
• Manage engineering changes, component releases, and BOM updates throughout the product lifecycle.
• Optimize designs for cost, quality, and production feasibility with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
• Provide technical support for issue resolution during prototype builds and production launches.

Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in automotive exterior component design, development, and release.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 or V6.
• Experience with 3DEXPERIENCE PLM systems and engineering change management.
• Strong understanding of injection molding, composites, and other manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with GD&T and engineering drawing standards.
• Hands-on experience with prototype development and validation testing.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with global OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers.
• Knowledge of regulatory and certification requirements for exterior components.
