Description

Develop mechanical and electro-mechanical designs for complex components, assemblies, and products. Own the design lifecycle from concept to manufacturing handoff, ensuring compliance with military and ASME standards.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative mechanical and electro-mechanical designs that meet functional, operational, and integration requirements within cost and producibility constraints.
• Prepare complex design layouts, schematics, sketches, and drawing packages adhering to military or ASME standards.
• Review engineering documents, test plans, and change notices to verify compliance with military specifications and dimensional accuracy.
• Coordinate with systems engineers, vendors, and manufacturing teams to ensure designs meet contractual requirements and prevent layout defects.
• Evaluate drawings for appropriate tolerances, fits, finishes, and material integration, ensuring effective transition to modeling and simulation software.

Required Skills

• 9+ years of professional design and drafting experience.
• Expertise in Pro-E/Creo CAD systems, specifically Creo 7.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance analysis.
• Advanced 3D modeling and manipulation using CAD methodologies.
• Comprehensive knowledge of military drawings, specifications, and applicable MILSPEC/STD.
• Deep understanding of production methods and human factors.
• Comprehensive product line knowledge at component, subsystem, and system levels.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Model Based Definition (MBD).
