Design Systems - Application Engineer

You will manage system interactions and interfaces between components and subsystems of the EDM gearbox.

Responsibilities

• Manage EDM gearbox hardware system integration and system balancing of all components.
• Schedule hardware system design reviews and review design proposals.
• Organize reviews with Virtual Analysis/CAE teams to ensure Virtual DVPs are completed before prototype hardware orders.
• Lead Driveline System and Interface DFMEA and DRBFM team reviews.
• Review and approve change notices to ensure checklists and E-BPs are aligned.
• Coordinate DRBTR reviews and manage CQI and GIMS cross-functional task force teams.

Required Skills

• Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of engineering experience.
• General knowledge of EDM Gearboxes, Drivelines, Axles, or Transmission Systems.
• Experience with Functional Block Diagrams and DFMEA.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to present complex material to various audiences.
• Organizational skills to prioritize work in time-constrained environments.

Preferred Skills

• 5 years of engineering experience in driveline, axles, transmission, or electrified powertrain systems.
• Experience with Gearbox, Driveline, or Axle Design Release Responsibility.
• Master in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Knowledge of powertrain duty cycle analysis and product development processes.
• Green or Black Belt in Six Sigma or DFSS.
