Desktop Engineer — Job Description Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT hardware. Provide technical support to users for Windows, Microsoft Office, email, networking, and software issues. Diagnose and resolve hardware and software problems. Manage user accounts, permissions, and system access. Install and update operating systems, applications, antivirus, and security patches. Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and basic network connectivity issues. Maintain IT asset and service-request records. Escalate complex technical issues to the appropriate IT team. Perform regular system maintenance, backups, and security checks.
