Desktop Engineer

Debug issues on SONiC-based network elements and provide technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Debug customer-reported issues on SONiC-based network elements.
• Collaborate with the platform development team to validate bug fixes and release customer patches.
• Identify and resolve complex software and hardware issues.
• Communicate technical findings clearly to both engineering teams and non-technical audiences.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Deep understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, Ethernet, LLDP, OSPF, and BGP.
• Expertise in SONiC NOS and SONiC image booting on ONIE-compatible target boards.
• Strong knowledge of SONiC architecture and the SAI layer.
• Hands-on experience with Linux Docker and Docker networking.
• Proficiency in C and Python programming.
• Experience with Linux kernel and user space programming.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco 8000 products.
• Ability to perform SONiC-based configuration and troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of redis-server, syncd, swss, network drivers, and platform drivers (fan, power, LED).
