Description

Maintain and enhance a large-scale, globally deployed VMware-based platform.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Develop solutions to manage, configure, and support a heterogeneous global virtualization plant.
• Build and maintain a provisioning system and tooling that provides APIs and command-based interfaces.
• Write secure, testable, and modular code for state-based distributed systems.
• Collaborate with team members through code reviews, specification implementation, and documentation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in software development.
• Strong Python and Perl programming skills.
• Expert knowledge of Linux and familiarity with UNIX system calls.
• Experience with backend server development for state-based distributed systems providing highly available APIs.
• Proficiency with SQL and database programming.
• Experience working on large (10k+ lines) modular projects in collaborative environments.
• Practical use of Git, Jenkins, Agile, and continuous integration practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience designing and supporting large-scale production IaaS platforms or VMware technologies.
• Troubleshooting experience across hardware, O/S, network, and storage.
• Knowledge of Erlang or Prolog.
