Description

Design and implement automated patching frameworks for enterprise databases and infrastructure.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Build end-to-end patching pipelines including version discovery, pre/post checks, compliance validation, and reporting.
• Develop reusable automation frameworks and templates for infrastructure operations using Ansible, Terraform, and orchestration tools.
• Create and maintain automation scripts in Python, Shell, and PowerShell.
• Integrate workflows with monitoring, scheduling, and service management tools like ServiceNow.
• Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize processes for large-scale enterprise environments.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps or automation engineering.
• Strong hands-on Python scripting and Bash/PowerShell proficiency.
• Proven experience with Ansible (playbooks, roles) and Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) and job orchestration (Rundeck).
• Knowledge of database patching for Oracle, SQL Server, IBM Db2, MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Cassandra.
• Familiarity with CMDB integration and change control workflows.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Managed File Processing (MFO) tools.
• Deep understanding of Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux) and Windows Server environments.
