Description

You will manage production and development infrastructure for a cloud-based commerce platform, executing the strategic direction for infrastructure, security, CI/CD, and IT operations.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day operations for production and development environments.
• Streamline processes to increase system scalability, reliability, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Development and QA teams to improve existing features and roll out new services.
• Support the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and ensure high platform availability.
• Implement high availability strategies including HAProxy, GeoDNS, and multi-datacenter architectures.

Required Skills

• 8 years of experience in relevant DevOps or infrastructure roles.
• Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
• Scripting expertise in Ruby, Perl, Python, Bash, Awk, or PHP.
• Experience with build automation tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, or Cruisecontrol.
• Knowledge of systems automation and provisioning frameworks like Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Experience supporting web applications, specifically Ruby and Java-based stacks.
• Familiarity with virtualization and cloud platforms including ESXi, EC2, or KVM.
• Hands-on work with large scale databases including MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, HBase, Cassandra, or Hadoop.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with middleware (MQ) and caching strategies like Redis, Memcached, or Varnish.
• Knowledge of Single Sign On technologies such as LDAP, Kerberos, or OpenDirectory.
