Description

You will lead the migration of monolithic applications to Liberty while modernizing build and deployment processes.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Refactor legacy build processes from monolithic structures to distributed Maven-based builds.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines within GitLab to build and deploy applications to Liberty.
• Standardize and isolate configuration files to ensure compatibility during the WAS to Liberty migration.
• Guide developers and architects through application breakdown and troubleshooting during the migration phase.
• Manage code migration from SVN and Bitbucket to GitLab, ensuring all dependencies are handled in the new process.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of professional experience.
• Strong Java development background with an understanding of WAS application configurations.
• Expertise in Maven for build automation and refactoring.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab and GitLab Ultimate.
• Proficiency in managing repositories within Bitbucket and SVN.
• Experience implementing DevOps pipelines for build and deployment.
• Knowledge of Kubernetes.
• Experience with Jenkins.

Preferred Skills

• Experience migrating applications from WebSphere Application Server (WAS) to Liberty.
