Description

You will own the design, development, and operational support of distributed scientific data environments across on-premises and AWS infrastructure.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and debug software enhancements for complex data synthesis systems.
• Manage virtualized infrastructure using the VMware suite, including vCenter and vSphere.
• Administer, secure, and develop databases using PostgreSQL, Solr/Lucene, Elasticsearch, AWS RDS, and MongoDB.
• Execute DevSecOps, system administration, and network administration tasks.
• Perform systems engineering tasks related to design, integration, and implementation.

Required Skills

• 15+ years of work experience in lieu of a degree, or a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a similar field.
• Hands-on experience with AWS and CloudFormation.
• Proficiency with Docker, Jenkins, and GitLab.
• Experience with Python, Flask, JavaScript, GraphQL, and Spring.
• Strong understanding of ETL concepts and data load procedures.
• Ability to manage large-scale virtualized environments and storage appliances.
• Competency in using Jira for task and project management.

Preferred Skills

• AWS Development or Solutions Architect certification.
• Database Administration experience.
