Description

You will modernize existing software by migrating it to AWS cloud-native services to improve scalability, availability, and cost optimization.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain Dockerized application components using AWS ECS.
• Modify software architectures to leverage specific AWS services for high performance and availability.
• Apply DevOps principles and automation to streamline infrastructure and software deployment pipelines.
• Analyze system data to diagnose technical issues, draw conclusions, and implement resolutions.
• Collaborate within an Agile team to meet deployment schedules and development milestones.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of application programming experience using Java and AWS principles.
• 5+ years of system integration and development experience with Core Java and J2EE.
• 5+ years of experience with CI/CD practices and tool chains including Jenkins, Artifactory, GitHub, Docker, and Ansible.
• Proficiency with AWS services: ECS, EC2, EBS, S3, RDS, VPC, ALB, IAM, CloudFront, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, SQS, SES, and Lambda.
• Experience with AWS SDKs and/or CLI.
• Strong understanding of the Linux operating system and networking concepts.
• Experience building scalable infrastructure in AWS.
• Proficiency with Maven build tools.
• Full software development lifecycle (SDLC) experience in an Agile environment.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Docker containers, SOA, and Test Driven Development.
• Experience with JBOSS Application Platform, Apache HTTP server, and SonarQube.
