Description

Lead engineering efforts for complex GCP deployments and product development while providing subject matter expertise to pre-sales teams.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Act as the lead engineer on large client deploy projects and product engineering initiatives.
• Install, configure, and manage OS and GCP services, maintaining high availability through proactive measures.
• Implement custom machine images and centralized configuration management for repeatable builds and auto-scaling.
• Troubleshoot complex technical issues, resolve problems via the problem management process, and participate in the 24x7 on-call rota.
• Train team members, act as a technical escalation point, and drive process improvements via the Kanban board.

Required Skills

• 8+ years’ experience supporting mission-critical environments (high-profile websites or enterprise infrastructure).
• 3+ years engineering, architecting, or supporting GCP solutions (Compute Engine, App Engine, Cloud SQL, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage).
• Strong Linux or Windows OS knowledge with basic familiarity of the other; MCSE/RHCE or equivalent preferred.
• Current GCP Associate and Professional level certifications, including at least one Specialty certification (Security or Networking).
• Experience building scalable environments using automation tools like Terraform and Ansible.
• Scripting ability in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or Perl.
• Experience with containerized environments (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes/Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins).
• Proficiency with Git for version control and strong TCP/IP knowledge.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in an ITIL environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in a computing-related discipline or equivalent ability.
