Description

You will lead and mentor a geographically diverse team of DevOps engineers while remaining completely hands-on. Your primary focus is building secure, resilient, and cost-optimized AWS cloud infrastructure for AI/ML workloads. You will drive infrastructure-as-code maturity, oversee Kubernetes orchestration at scale, and ensure the reliability of AI-enabled systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing DevOps team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Build and manage secure, cost-optimized AWS infrastructure for AI/ML training, inference, and deployment.
  • Oversee CI/CD pipelines for Java and Python microservices using GitLab CI and Jenkins.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code maturity using Terraform with modular, reusable patterns.
  • Implement observability with Datadog and chaos engineering practices to ensure system resilience.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of experience in DevOps, Platform, or Cloud Engineering with hands-on delivery responsibility.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, EKS).
  • Expertise in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, including AI/ML and data platform infrastructure.
  • Deep experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins) for Java, Python, and AI/ML pipelines.
  • Proven leadership experience managing geographically diverse engineering teams.
  • Strong expertise in AWS architecture best practices, including scaling, security, and reliability.
  • Experience managing Kubernetes clusters (preferably EKS) for containerized AI/ML workloads.
  • Solid understanding of cloud and AI security best practices (IAM, encryption, secrets management).
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or Ansible (Python strongly preferred).

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Cloud FinOps and cost optimization strategies for compute-intensive AI workloads.
  • Experience designing disaster recovery and resilience strategies for high availability.
