Description

You will own the production database infrastructure, focusing on AWS RDS SQL Server stability and automation.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support AWS RDS SQL Server instances across 24x7 production environments.
• Monitor database performance using Dynatrace and AWS CloudWatch, driving remediation to improve stability.
• Develop and maintain automation for repeatable DBA tasks using PowerShell and T-SQL.
• Collaborate with platform teams using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code for database deployments.
• Support regulated workloads, ensuring adherence to HIPAA and SOX compliance requirements.

Required Skills

• At least 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server (2019 and 2022) in production.
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS for SQL Server, including Multi-AZ configurations.
• Proficiency in T-SQL and PowerShell.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot performance issues in large, high-availability databases.
• Experience supporting highly regulated environments (HIPAA and/or SOX).
• Familiarity with AWS services like CloudWatch, SNS/SQS, Lambda, and data integration tools (SSIS, Glue).
• Experience participating in incident response and on-call support.
