Description

You will design, implement, and support distributed systems and tools to solve technical challenges at scale.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Lead functional and architectural design for assigned areas, ensuring decisions meet project requirements.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance frameworks and tools used by development teams.
• Manage area-level risks and implement mitigation plans to ensure delivery within deadlines.
• Conduct code reviews and establish coding standards, conventions, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to suggest technical and functional product improvements.

Required Skills

• 4+ years of industry experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Python programming.
• Strong knowledge of Linux, Unix, or BSD internals.
• Hands-on experience with open source software including MySQL, Hadoop, Envoy, HAProxy, and Nginx.
• Experience with Elasticsearch, ZooKeeper, HBase, Apache Airflow, Memcache, and Kafka.
• Proven ability to work within an Agile environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• C++ programming experience.
• Knowledge of Bazel and deploying web applications to cloud infrastructure like AWS.
