Digital Manufacturing (IIoT) Functional Consultant

You will bridge the gap between manufacturing shopfloor operations and IT development teams to implement digital manufacturing solutions.

Responsibilities

• Analyze current manufacturing operations to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and system documentation.
• Create traceability matrices to maintain relationships between business requirements, test cases, and test results.
• Develop and execute test cases to validate that digital manufacturing applications meet business needs.
• Design comprehensive process documentation, including process flows, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing processes, automation, production planning, or supply chain.
• Proven experience implementing IIoT or Digital Manufacturing solutions from a functional standpoint.
• Deep understanding of machine connectivity, data collection, and business KPI calculation.
• Expertise in creating functional specifications and aligning stakeholders from shopfloor to IT.
• Knowledge of IIoT protocols including MQTT, OPC-UA, and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with ERP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
• Background in Discrete manufacturing, CPG, Oil and Gas, Automotive, or Consumer Goods.
