Description

Direct the Bioengineering Department, overseeing biomedical equipment selection, procurement, and maintenance across all sites.

Responsibilities

• Manage medical equipment planning for construction projects, including pre-purchase evaluations and vendor research.
• Integrate maintenance workflows and ensure compliance with Joint Commission medical equipment management standards.
• Direct the medical device hazard and recall notification program, performing initial inspections and acceptance testing.
• Develop departmental budgets, annual goals, and strategic capital requests for biomedical technology.
• Supervise technical staff, negotiate system-wide service agreements, and facilitate in-service training.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of expert-level experience in medical or technical equipment operations and maintenance management.
• Proven experience managing bioengineering programs within a large hospital or complex academic medical center.
• Advanced training in electronic theory and technology.
• Deep familiarity with regulatory and inspection agency requirements.
• Expert knowledge of current industry trends and patient care equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to apply new technology solutions to healthcare business problems.
• Strong ability to communicate technical principles to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with CCE and CBET certifications.
