Description

You will handle Level 2 support for data center network infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Install cables and optics, performing physical cabling, cable management (Fiber/Copper/Power), and northbound cabling.
• Support network and server teams with rack and stack activities and cable running.
• Conduct failure analysis, functional testing of systems, and identify failed components.
• Perform break/fix tasks, including cleaning fibers, replacing faulty optical cables, and inserting loopbacks.
• Perform component replacement (line cards, fibers) and power cycling/unit replacement as directed.

Required Skills

• 5-8 years of experience in Data center infrastructure or DWDM.
• 3+ years of experience in installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of Network Hardware.
• Hands-on experience with Datacenter, Fiber, Fiber Optics, Fiber Tools, and Network Troubleshooting.
• Experience with physical cabling (Fiber/Copper) installation and maintenance, including MPO fibers.
• Proficiency in hands-on installation and troubleshooting of Data Center and Network equipment, rack, and stack.
• Understanding of Data center and network hardware architecture to assist L3 troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with IT principles related to networks and hardware.
• Ability to perform asset tagging, labeling, and patching activities.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of ITIL and experience working within an ITIL environment.
• Hands-on experience in IMAC and break-fix activities in an infrastructure environment.

Education

Equivalent Qualifications: Education : BSc. degree in computer science or related field or equivalent associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from three-year college or technical school with an emphasis in electronics required, bachelor's Degree preferred. Tech certification: Knowledge of ITIL and experience of working within an ITIL environment would be preferred. Work Experience: 5-8 years of Data center infrastructure or DWDM.3+ Years of experience in Installation, configuration and troubleshooting of Network Hardware
