Description

Oversee validation and testing for Class 5-8 trucks and buses, focusing on electrical systems and prototype instrumentation.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, maintain, troubleshoot, and test Class 5-8 trucks and buses, including ICE, Hybrid, and EV systems.
• Install and modify electrical harnesses; create test harnesses and instrument vehicles for data collection.
• Interpret schematics, diagrams, and written instructions to diagnose electrical circuits and components.
• Perform measurements using oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, and current probes.
• Read, store, and write ECM, ACM, and TCM calibrations using Cummins InSite/Cal-Term and Allison tools.

Required Skills

• 3+ years of automotive dealership technician experience with strong electrical system troubleshooting.
• Proficient in wiring, soldering, and using industry-standard tools (impacts, torque wrenches, crimping/depinning tools).
• Experience with diagnostic software: Vector CANalyzer, Pico Scope, NexiQ, Somat, Dewsoft, and LabView.
• Ability to safely operate ARI-Hetra Mobile Lift Column Lifts and handle heavy components.
• Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Knowledge of safety protocols for electric work.

Preferred Skills

• CDL license for driving school buses and heavy trucks.
• ASE Certifications.
• Experience in testing environments (cold/hot chambers, dynos, wind tunnels).
