Description

You will act as a hands-on individual contributor supporting environmental, health, and safety initiatives across the Fremont site.

Responsibilities

• Maintain EHS policies and programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Injury Illness & Prevention, BioSafety, and Chemical Hygiene programs.
• Lead monthly Gemba walks, safety committee meetings, and Emergency Response Team (ERT) sessions to identify and mitigate workplace hazards.
• Oversee all safety and environmental training, including new hire orientations, BBP, and hazardous waste management.
• Coordinate hazardous waste handling by profiling waste streams, maintaining manifests, and reconciling environmental reports.
• Manage incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify trends and implement countermeasures.

Required Skills

• 2 to 5 years of experience in an EHS role, ideally within the FDA-regulated or medical device industry.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Engineering.
• Working knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
• Experience with lean tools such as 5S, Gemba, Visual Management, and Kaizen.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.
• Ability to manage OSHAs logs, SDSs, and hazardous material manifests.
• Conduct periodic audits and manage inspections from regulatory bodies such as the Fire Department, County Hazmat, and Alameda County Health Department.
