Description

Manage the selection, qualification, and reliability of electronic components for extreme, high-reliability environments.

Responsibilities

• Identify new SoC/IC technologies matching specific hardware requirements and environmental constraints.
• Develop and execute qualification plans for new or unverified technologies in high-reliability applications.
• Investigate root cause failures by interfacing with internal and external failure analysis labs.
• Advise design engineers on component selection, electrical de-rating, and proper usage based on application environments.
• Conduct obsolescence reviews for existing designs and review quality test reports for packaged components and dies.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in component engineering and digital circuit design.
• Technical expertise in microprocessors, microcontrollers, FPGA design, and memory interfacing.
• Deep knowledge of component failure modes, reliability theory, and accelerated reliability testing.
• Understanding of passive components, microcircuits, hybrids, semiconductors, and discrete device fabrication.
• Experience with hardware circuit board design basics and component specifications.
• Familiarity with automating test equipment including power supplies, ovens, LCR meters, DMMs, and oscilloscopes.
• Knowledge of components used in high-reliability, automotive, or downhole environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Python or LabVIEW.
• Experience with Cadence PSpice and component modeling.
