Description

Design, test, and sustain hardware and software for elevator control systems, including human-machine interfaces, power electronics, and door operators.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop embedded hardware, firmware, and software for elevator control systems.
• Establish and maintain test processes, performing calculations and laboratory tests to verify design soundness.
• Lead root cause failure analysis for field turnbacks and collaborate with repair shops to close feedback loops.
• Support supply chain by driving dual sourcing and sustaining parts availability for internal and contract manufacturers.
• Develop replacement solutions for obsolete components while ensuring backwards compatibility and quality improvements.

Required Skills

• BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 5-20 years of experience.
• Strong analog/digital design, power electronics, signal integrity, and sensor conditioning skills.
• Proficiency in C, VB.NET, C#, C++, Assembly, and MATLAB for embedded applications.
• Direct PCBA design experience using Altium, OrCAD, KiCAD, or Eagle.
• Knowledge of communication protocols including SPI, I2C, I2S, UART, CAN, and USB.
• Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, curve tracers, and logic analyzers.
• Ability to design custom microprocessor/DSP boards for interfaces, touch screens, and LCD TFT displays.

Preferred Skills

• Experience mentoring junior engineers and leading critical design reviews.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
