Description

You will design lighting, power, and low voltage electrical systems for commercial, industrial, healthcare, and institutional projects in Madison, WI.

Responsibilities

• Design electrical systems and prepare technical specifications and cost estimates.
• Resolve complex design conflicts and adapt standard techniques to create unique solutions.
• Coordinate project progression with City, State, and County officials and outside agencies.
• Liaise between clients, agencies, subcontractors, and multi-discipline design teams including Architectural, Structural, HVAC, and Plumbing.
• Participate in contract bidding, administration, and on-site construction observation.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in electrical design and consulting.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Working knowledge of Easy Power, Power Tools for Windows, or SKM.
• Familiarity with Department of Commerce Codes, International Building Codes, NFPA 70, NFPA E, NEC, and ASHRAE Standards.
• Knowledge of consulting and construction practices, including design/build and construction manager roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint).
• Eligibility for Wisconsin registration.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to meet strict project deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure or experience in Revit/BIM.
