Description

Manage component lifecycles and electrical design integrity for downhole tool hardware.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot component failures through root cause analysis and propose technical solutions.
• Execute component selection, testing, and qualification while managing obsolescence and identifying second sources.
• Design electrical cabling, including wiring diagrams, cable diagrams, and schematics.
• Collaborate with PCB designers, mechanical designers, and vendors to resolve part shortages and quality issues.
• Develop EBOMs and apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure manufacturing readiness.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in electronic engineering and product lifecycle management.
• Expertise in component engineering, including microcircuits and electronic component management procedures.
• Proficiency in electrical design for cables and schematics.
• Experience with failure modes, reliability theory, and accelerated reliability testing.
• Knowledge of component specifications and standards (ANSI, IPC, API, HTPT).
• Ability to interpret datasheets to identify suitable part substitutes.
• Experience using PDM tools like CWI for document and data creation.
• Background in the Oil and Gas industry.
• Competency in performing root cause analysis on defective PCBs.

Preferred Skills

• Experience developing electronic parts management plans.
• Familiarity with electronic parts failure analysis.
