Lead the implementation of electronic case reporting for infectious diseases within the HIV/STD/HEP Division.
Responsibilities
Author and configure electronic case reporting protocols within the Reportable Conditions Knowledge Management System (RCKMS).
Collaborate with subject matter experts and the Office of Technology & Compliance to establish reporting standards.
Develop educational materials for internal and external stakeholders regarding electronic case reporting procedures.
Assist the NBS/Surveillance team in implementing workflows and automation within the state surveillance system.
Provide epidemiologic consultation and technical assistance to local health departments, providers, and veterinarians.
Required Skills
Master's degree in public health, biological sciences, or social sciences with 2+ years of public health experience, or doctoral-level degree in epidemiology.
Graduate or professional degree (RN, MD/DO, DDS/DMD, DVM, PhD, RS) with specific epidemiology training such as MPH, CDC EIS, or CSTE fellowship.
Proficiency in statistical analysis tools: SAS, ArcGIS, SQL, SPSS, R, Python, or Stata.
Ability to design descriptive and analytical epidemiologic investigations and generate hypotheses.
Experience designing and conducting applied epidemiologic studies.
Competency in managing and analyzing data from surveillance and public health investigations.
Conduct routine epidemiologic surveillance and investigate outbreaks.
Preferred Skills
5+ years of relevant public health or epidemiology experience.
