Description

You will own the development and maintenance of embedded Linux Board Support Packages.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Linux kernel device drivers for embedded platforms.
• Manage board bring-ups, including U-Boot configuration and Linux start-up sequencing.
• Debug kernel stability issues such as system locks, crash analysis, and abnormal resets.
• Interpret technical documentation, schematics, and datasheets to guide hardware integration.
• Prepare design specifications, test plans, and test reports based on requirements.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in Embedded Software development.
• Strong foundation in C programming.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with the Linux kernel and kernel device drivers.
• Experience building embedded Linux systems using tools like Yocto or Buildroot.
• Proficiency in Host-Target toolchain development for embedded platforms.
• Skilled in debugging using JTAG, Trace32, ICE, and ICD, along with oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers.
• Familiarity with version control systems including Git, CVS, Bitbucket, and SourceTree.
• Experience developing multi-threaded and multi-process applications with sound OS fundamentals.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in system level debugging, reverse engineering, or Linux Internals.
• Experience in RTOS such as Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
