Description

Design and implement complex C++ software for robotic surgical devices, owning the development lifecycle from requirements to verification.

This role is hybrid.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test medium-to-large complex software systems in C++ for real-time environments.
• Write concise requirements, architecture specifications, and design descriptions following rigorous design control methodologies.
• Execute unit testing and assist in the verification and validation of complete device designs.
• Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineers to integrate software with electronic components and hardware sensors.
• Manage development schedules and provide status updates to project managers in an agile framework.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in C++ programming, including multithreading (pThreads, Tasks, Futures) and object-oriented design.
• Experience designing communication frameworks and APIs using gRPC and REST.
• Deep knowledge of the ARM platform and interfacing with low-level hardware components (sensors, battery management).
• Working knowledge of Python and familiarity with control systems, specifically PIDs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, CMake, Docker, and Yocto build environments.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Quality System Standards.

Preferred Skills

• Advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Experience with medical image processing, bare metal development, FreeRTOS, or multi-processor systems.
• Familiarity with regulatory environments, including 510(k) submissions and electronic schematic interpretation.
