Description

Develop embedded software to optimize field operations by extending and modernizing a 2.5M-line production system.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Extend and modernize a large-scale production system supporting real-time field operations.
• Manage complex, cross-module debugging issues within extensive codebases.
• Refactor existing functionality to improve performance without introducing regressions.
• Apply strong C++ skills to optimize performance-critical code paths.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong command of Modern C++.
• Deep understanding of memory management, including manual allocation, smart pointers, and custom allocators.
• Proficiency in concurrency and multithreading, including locks, atomic operations, and thread safety.
• Expertise in object-oriented design and established design patterns.
• Familiarity with C++ templates and metaprogramming techniques.
• Ability to navigate, understand, and maintain very large codebases (millions of lines of code).
• Experience debugging complex, undocumented legacy code.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with embedded systems in field operations environments.
