Experience: Ideally 2–5 Years
Education: Bachelor’s in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering preferred
Primary Responsibilities
Implement real-time control system designs using C++ with efficient, well-structured code
Implement communication protocols for hardware including motors, gyros, encoders, power supplies, and more
Understand timing requirements and thread prioritization
Implement BIT/FIT for gimbal systems
Work with Linux operating systems
Assist senior engineers with creating and assembling prototypes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams during challenging Design Validation Testing (DVT)
Support indoor and outdoor data collection events
Present test findings to engineers and senior leadership
Support systems throughout all development stages, from prototyping to root cause analysis
Assist with laboratory equipment and experiment setup
Support calibration cycles and equipment maintenance
Research, order, and set up new equipment
Conduct technical research and surveys
Support engineering documentation including data files, reports, and drawings
Perform analysis, report writing, presentations, and other engineering tasks as needed

Desired Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer, Electrical, or Software Engineering
2–5 years of embedded systems software development experience
Interest in working in a hands-on laboratory environment
Aptitude for hands-on optical projects
Ability to take direction and execute independently
Comfortable working in a dynamic engineering environment
Self-motivated and strong work ethic
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong problem-solving abilities
Good understanding of analytical principles
Willingness to explore new experiences and responsibilities
