Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design Leadership

 Own the architecture and design of IoT Edge and Embedded software solutions.

 Drive technical design reviews and establish engineering best practices.

 Define scalable, secure, and maintainable software architectures for distributed IoT

deployments.

 Translate business and product requirements into robust technical solutions.

 Lead proof-of-concepts, technology evaluations, and architectural decision-making.

 Mentor engineers on software design patterns, coding standards, and system

architecture.

Embedded Software Development

 Design and develop high-performance applications for Linux-based embedded platforms.

 Build scalable edge applications using:

o Go

o C/C++

o Rust

o Python

 Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor to improve productivity

and code quality.

 Optimise applications for ARM and AMD-based hardware platforms.

 Develop multi-threaded, event-driven, and distributed edge applications.

Connectivity & Messaging

 Design and implement communication frameworks using:

o MQTT

o Sparkplug B

o JSON-based messaging

 Integrate industrial communication protocols such as:

o Modbus (Nice to Have)

o CCN (Nice to Have)

 Develop reliable edge-to-cloud telemetry and command/control communication

architectures.

DevOps & Automation

 Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using CircleCI.

 Drive automation of build, test, deployment, and release processes.

 Promote DevOps practices across the software development lifecycle.

 Ensure software quality through automated testing and continuous delivery.

Device Lifecycle Management

 Define deployment and software update strategies using Canonical Snaps.

 Design solutions for remote monitoring, diagnostics, and fleet management.

 Enable secure and scalable lifecycle management for connected edge devices.

Required Skills

 Strong proficiency in:

 Experience using AI-powered coding assistants such as Cursor.
