Description

You will manage and support the critical network infrastructure used for emergency communications and 911 service delivery.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy, rack, and cable emergency communications network infrastructure and perform physical cabling work.
  • Configure and test E911 and NG911 telephony, including Text-to-911 services (SMS, MMS, RTT).
  • Triage and investigate infrastructure or service failures to identify root causes and implement remediation.
  • Oversee vendors supporting emergency communications, telecommunications services, and infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with 911 Originating Service Providers, neighboring jurisdictions, and Emergency Communications Relay Centers.

Required Skills

  • 9+ years of experience in network support and LAN/WAN troubleshooting.
  • 9+ years of experience in communications routing, transport, and delivery (Wireline, Wireless, VoIP).
  • 9+ years of experience using documentation tools including MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS Word.
  • Working knowledge of networking hardware, topologies, and telecommunications cabling standards.
  • Experience with LEC circuit termination and turn-up.
  • Experience supporting SMS, RTT, and TCC routing or aggregation.
  • Ability to follow detailed job documents and meet customer SLAs via travel within the NYC region.
  • Availability to work on-call, after hours, and weekends as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Experience with ACD systems, E911 selective routing, ANI/ALI services, and NG9-1-1 ESInet routing.
  • Knowledge of Land-mobile-radio systems, P25 networks, and GIS location-based identification.
