Description

You will manage all phases of CICS engineering, system maintenance, and software operations within a large-scale 24x7 Sysplex and CICSPlex environment.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Execute CICS engineering, software maintenance, and system upgrades using SMP/E.
• Perform problem determination, dump analysis, and performance tuning to optimize CICS regions.
• Configure CICSPlex SM implementation, including customization and dynamic transaction routing.
• Interface with application developers and operations teams to resolve environment issues.
• Provide on-call support and maintenance outside of normal working hours.

Required Skills

• 5+ years of experience in mainframe systems programming.
• Deep knowledge of CICS parameters and resource definitions for performance tuning.
• Experience with CICSPlex SM, dynamic transaction routing, and SMF record structures.
• Proficiency with CICS Performance Analyzer and monitoring tools like Sysview for CICS.
• Hands-on experience with Mainframe WebSphere MQ.
• Ability to perform dump analysis and complex problem determination.
• Knowledge of COBOL to support application developers.
• Familiarity with CICS TS V5 environment, VSAM, LPA, and Coupling Facility.

Preferred Skills

• Assembler and COBOL coding for CICS Exits.
• Knowledge of z/OS facilities including APF and Linklist.
• Experience with CICS Interdependency Analyzer, z/OS & CICS Explorer, Natural language, and Adabas.
