Description

You will own the implementation and maintenance of enterprise data governance capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Implement and configure Microsoft Purview for enterprise data governance, including setting up accounts, collections, scans, classifications, and the business glossary.
• Onboard and scan data sources across Azure and on-prem systems (ADLS, Azure SQL, Synapse, SQL Server, Power BI), ensuring metadata capture and refresh schedules are accurate.
• Apply and manage data classifications, sensitivity labels, and policies within Purview, integrating them with Azure security and access controls.
• Configure and validate technical and business lineage to support data traceability, impact analysis, and compliance needs.
• Troubleshoot, monitor, and optimize Purview scans, metadata accuracy, and governance workflows in collaboration with data engineers and stewards.

Required Skills

• 14+ years of experience in data governance or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview implementation.
• Proficiency with Azure SQL, Synapse, ADLS, SQL Server, and Power BI.
• Experience configuring data classifications and sensitivity labels.
• Knowledge of data lineage capture and validation.
• Ability to integrate governance tools with Azure security controls.
