Description

You will lead enterprise architecture initiatives to modernize legacy mainframe systems and integrate them with modern distributed platforms.

This role is remote.

Responsibilities

• Design enterprise-wide platform architecture covering both mainframe and distributed systems.
• Define modernization strategies for legacy workloads using MicroFocus rehosing and emulation.
• Architect integration between mainframe applications and service-oriented architectures via APIs and middleware.
• Leverage VMware technologies to build scalable, fault-tolerant hybrid environments.
• Establish platform architecture standards and participate in enterprise architecture review boards.

Required Skills

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture or systems modernization.
• Expertise in mainframe environments, specifically COBOL, IMS DB/DC, and JCL.
• Hands-on experience with MicroFocus platforms for mainframe workload rehosing.
• Strong background in distributed systems, middleware, and system interoperability.
• Extensive experience with VMware platforms and enterprise virtualization.
• Proven ability to architect hybrid environments linking legacy and modern infrastructure.
• Technical documentation and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Architecture certifications such as TOGAF or Zachman.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP.
