Description

You will apply environmental and engineering principles to ensure compliance for utility and canal operations.

Responsibilities

• Assess environmental compliance and interpret State and Federal regulations affecting operations.
• Acquire field data and serve as the technical point of contact for operational staff and contractors.
• Prepare permit applications and review external applications against SEQRA regulations.
• Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste disposal and inspect accumulation and storage areas.
• Conduct audits and field inspections to identify and correct non-conformities in environmental processes.

Required Skills

• 1-5 years of experience in environmental science or related field.
• Knowledge of State and Federal regulations regarding wetlands, water quality, and threatened & endangered species.
• Proficiency with SEQRA regulations.
• Experience in waste management and risk analysis.
• RCRA Hazardous Waste and DOT Hazardous Waste training.
• Ability to support project managers with anticipated permitting requirements.
• Knowledge of utility or transportation industry environmental issues.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
