JD for Exstream (Composition Tool) Developer

• Work-related Exstream tool experience with print and document composition
• Must have worked on XML type of input in Exstream
• Knowledge of placeholders in Exstream
• Should have worked on transaction tables
• Strong foundational knowledge of PDF and XML
• Good to have knowledge of AFP print stream and other output formats
• Experience with full document lifecycle management (from data extraction to document composition)
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex systems in a manner that allows options to be understood and helps to facilitate decision making
• Must be able to make decisions based on precedent and solve arising problems using sound judgment and experience
• Strong knowledge of programming (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc)
• Ability to interact with external as well as internal clients / stakeholders for the purpose of discussion, designing, data gathering, reporting and problem solving
• Basic application knowledge and analytical problem solving skills
• Must have an understanding of file structures like PS (Post Script), PDF, AFP (Line mode, Mixed mode and fully composed), PCL, LCDS, Line Mode, XML, JSON, CSV, SDF
• Must have and understanding of ASCII and EBCDIC and encoding standards
• Must have an understanding of image files in both bitmap and vector based
• Must be able to formulate and communicate solutions based on requirements (Verbal and written)
• Knowledgeable of finishing features (10s, 6x9, flats, bulk, manual, special handling, booklets, coupons and self sealer)
• Must be familiar with optimization technique (optimizing PDF and AFP file sizes)
• Familiar with various color management options (Pantone, CMYK and RGB)
• Experience with scripting (Bash, C or Korn)
• Have an understanding of workflow tools
