Lead technical and architectural decisions for system infrastructure, configuration, scalability, and capacity while mentoring a team to remediate legacy applications and address security vulnerabilities.

Direct team tasks and project schedules to ensure delivered solutions meet technical specifications and design requirements. Collaborate with IT teams and business partners to define remediation and test strategies during project inception. Document lessons learned and maintain a knowledge database to improve engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and architectural decisions for system infrastructure, configuration, scalability, and capacity.
• Direct team tasks and project schedules to ensure delivered solutions meet technical specifications and design requirements.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to design and code reviews to prevent quality issues.
• Collaborate with IT teams and business partners to define remediation and test strategies during project inception.
• Document lessons learned and maintain a knowledge database to improve engineering efficiency.

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in the IT industry with at least 4 years in a technical leadership role.
• Strong background in Java and J2EE development, including design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with middleware such as WebLogic, Apache, and Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in UNIX environments and UNIX Shell scripting.
• Experience with build automation and CI/CD pipeline tools including Jenkins, GIT, Bitbucket, and Artifactory.
• Working knowledge of relational databases: Sybase, DB2, SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL.
• Understanding of multi-tier architectures involving web servers, caching, application servers, and load balancers.
• Knowledge of application security, including LDAP, certificates, public key encryption, SSH, and access credentials.

Preferred Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
