You will architect and implement security controls for a Public Safety ESINET and NENA compliant NG911 system.

This role is on-site.

Responsibilities

• Architect security controls and develop configurations for Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs).
• Review vendor designs to ensure compliance with City of New York security standards and governance models.
• Manage test cases, identify integration risks, and lead the resolution of security incidents.
• Assess Active Directory security roles, configure DNS policies, and examine firewall policies for accuracy.
• Configure IDS/IPS policies and troubleshoot level 3 security issues.

Required Skills

• 12+ years of Security Engineering experience.
• Strong network security and project management experience with the ability to lead projects.
• Hands-on experience with Next Generation Firewalls including Palo Alto, Fortinet, or Forcepoint.
• Deep knowledge of Identity and Access Management and Active Directory.
• Proficiency in configuring DNS and various VPN technologies.
• Experience performing security risk assessments and utilizing NIST and MITRE frameworks.
• Expertise with security management and troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, NetBrain, ExtraHop, or NetWitness.
• Understanding of IPS/IDS design and resilient architectures for high availability.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Skills

• Compliance experience, specifically HIPAA.
