You will perform installation, decommissioning, and troubleshooting of network equipment and circuits under regular supervision.
Responsibilities
Install, provision, test, and maintain DS0 through OC192 services and transmission/switching equipment.
Troubleshoot network equipment, replace defective modules, and track spare parts.
Perform preventative maintenance and inspections on critical infrastructure, including HVAC, high-voltage electrical systems, and DC power plants.
Manage assets, coordinate shipping and receiving, and maintain tools, test sets, and electronic equipment.
Monitor network routes and execute restoration tasks during service interruptions.
Required Skills
0-2 years of experience in network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
Knowledge of at least one technician discipline: Transmission (DS1/DS3/SONET), Switching (circuit-switching/SS7), TCP/IP, or Outside Plant (Fiber locating, OTDR, Mass Fusion Splicing).
Familiarity with TCP/IP and SONET.
Ability to locate fiber optic cable, right-of-way, and As-Builts.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office applications.
Capacity to learn corporate databases and update installation records/trouble tickets.
Valid driver's license and ability to work in all weather conditions.
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
Availability for 24x7 on-call rotation, standby, and dispatch.
